Food, activities and more in the heart of Daventry Town Centre
The New Street Cafe provides a warm, welcoming and active cafe environment for older people in Daventry town centre.
As well as home-cooked food the Cafe also provides a range of social activities and a meeting place to help reduce loneliness, isolation and improve health and wellbeing.
The New Street Cafe is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am-12 noon.
Our cafe provides tasty, home-cooked and affordable food and our breakfast range includes cakes, toasts, full breakfasts and rolls with tea and coffee from 70p.

Join our Community Lunches every Thursday!
These are a great opportunity to get a good meal, meet new people and find out more about what’s going on locally.
Lunches are £5 per person and include a freshly made main course, dessert and tea or coffee. You can book a place by getting in contact with us here at the Volunteer Centre or by popping into the Cafe during opening times.
Get Involved!
As well as new visitors we are always looking for new people to volunteer at the Cafe to help run our activities and add to the great things the Cafe is doing locally.
We welcome individuals who may want to help cook and assist our cafe volunteers day-to-day as well as creating and running health and wellbeing activities.
The Cafe has also provided enjoyable and rewarding volunteer experiences for locally-based businesses and their staff. We are proud of our links to Cummins Engineers and DHL who have provided incredible support to our Community Lunches, Cafe activities and helped to improve the Cafe space itself.
If you are interested in helping out please do get in touch by either popping in during Cafe opening times or contacting the Volunteer Centre.
Help fundraise
You can also help support the activities of our Cafe in tackling social isolation by fundraising. We would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in raising funds for the project, either through one-off sales and fun events to something more long-term, helping establish networks with businesses and other funders.
Fundraising is a vital part of the project and you would be playing a large role in providing an affordable, safe, warm and friendly space for older people in the Daventry District.
