Horizon: Building Confidence, Skills and Independence

Daventry Volunteer Centre’s Horizon project offers holistic, person-centred support, to people with additional support needs, enabling them to increase social interaction within their community and build confidence and skills, which in turn improves their mental health and well-being.

Funded by the Henry Smith Foundation and starting in 2022 the Volunteer Centre offer 1:1 planning and provision, as well as group activities. To date these have included activities such as Ladies Swim & Gym, walking groups, litter picking, art therapy sessions, as well as cooking and baking sessions at the New Street Centre in Daventry.

We currently take referrals from GP surgeries, Social Prescribers and the Job Centre. People can also self-refer.
